predictions (AFC North)

Well I know it's week 3 in the NFL but I am going to start making predictions about all the divisions and conferences.

Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens have added depth to their offense with WR Anquan Boldin. They mostly picked up Defensive rookies in the draft but I don't think they're going to make a difference. They traded their first round draft pick for a second round pick, a third round pick and a fourth round pick. So far the ravens are 2-1 losing to the Cincinnati Bengals. Prediction: a close second to the Bengals the reason I have come to that conclusion is that the ravens QB (Joe Flacco is still lagging some energy or something and is throwing to many interceptions for my liking but their running game shall keep them alive and well and Baltimore should go deep into the play-offs. Predicted 2nd in the AFC North .

Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals seem to be filled with talent nearly everywhere you look on the roster. Since they acquired Antonio Bryant back in March things seemed to be looking up and then when the Bengals decided to sign T.O. Things were looking even more up. Antonio Bryant was let go as effect of the Bengals being over the salary cap. Oklahoma University TE was the Bengals round 1 draft pick and is looking to make immediate effect with his body catching. The Bengals have 4th toughest schedule this season and will be looking to star Running back Cedric Benson for another top class season. So far the Bengals are also 2-1 with wins against Baltimore and Carolina and a loss to New England. My prediction is that with a hard nose Defense and an amazing kicker in Mike Nugent that alone will be able to carry them but with fantastic running game and a nearly close to perfect passing game they should at least get into the wild card round of the play-offs and a 1st place in the AFC North.

Cleveland Browns
The Browns are technically an old franchise except for the fact they were founded in the late 1990s so Cleveland are really a team in the making. The last time they were in the play-offs was in 2002 that's 8 years ago. The main acquisition was vet QB Jake Delhomme. Delhomme is quite frequently picked off . In my view I think that the Browns should come in 3rd in the AFC North. But it is likely that they will come 4th.

Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have a problem in the fact that Ben Roethlisburger has been suspended for 4-6 weeks. They didn't sign anyone over the off-season. There Defense are looking very strong with Troy Polamalu back from his Madden Curse season. There other problem is Santonio Holmes Since he is a NY Jet. The Steelers are looking to be 4th place in the AFC North they could be lucky and get 3rd place in the AFC North.

Dehli Common wealth games, Disaster or succes?

So far the common wealth games 2010 has been over shadowed by the state of the athletes village and by nations thinking about pulling themselves out from the competition. Now the big question is can the games be a success now after this scandal. No is what I would say, now every two minutes someone is going to bring up the state of the Athletes village whether it's in the comentery box or in a news paper or even a blog just like this one.
And just a couple of days ago this happened

"Commonwealth Games 2010 in chaos as 23 injured in stadium footbridge collapse

The ill-fated Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, just 12 days away, has suffered another major setback after a footbridge near the event's main stadium collapsed, injuring at least 23 labourers, five of them seriously."

Now this makes it no doubt that these games are going to be an absolute failure, but that is just my opinion. Please comment and do tell me your views.

Retraction

I know I've slagged off Madden recently, well I take that all back as I've just finished playing Madden NFL 11 demo and there are some major improvements.
  1. Their blocking has changed and all the right blocks are made at the right times
  2. Running the ball has become easier and simpler
  3. Game flow- You now have the choice whether to choose you play or have your coach asses your situation and call a play for you from your game plan. You can make up your own game plan if you choose or use your teams default game plan.

T.O and the Bengals WR Base

The Bengals earlier today closed a deal to add Terrell Owens to their already big and brilliant wide receiver base. But I said when Lebron and Chris Bosch joined the Miami Heat earlier this summer that I thought they had too much ego in their team and I think now that there will be too much ego in Cincinnati's Wide Receiver base.
Earlier this off-season the Bengals acquired Antonio Bryant of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they gave him a multi-million dollar contract and a good number of years on his contract. But news came in that he has been struggling with the Bengals. T.O. has been brought in for one year. The word has it that Ocho Cinco and T.O. will be playing on the outside and Antonio Bryant will be playing slot receiver. But where does that leave rookie wide receiver Jordan Shipley of the Longhorns because before T.O. came in the word was that Bryant would be playing outside and Shipley would be playing slot.
All these questions will be answered shortly as the Bengals start their pre-season with the Hall of Fame Game against Dallas on the 8th of August. But the signing of T.O. only can mean one thing that the Bengals are wanting to strengthen their passing game with Ocho, T.O., Antonio Bryant, Jordan Shipley and Tight End Jermain Gresham.
